Introduction to Book One - The Incubus Attack

The Dynamo Tales is a series of fantastic adventures for young adults, set in the State of the Sleep. Each book follows the adventures of apprentices to the Dynamo Circus, an amazing school for gifted and talented dreamers.

The Incubus Attack, the first novel in the series, follows Felix Eden a boy who, after an epic search, has been chosen to become the Guardian of the mysterious Touchstone. He leads an extraordinary new life at the Dynamo Circus where he must learn to harness the power of the stone and keep it safe from those who seek to possess it.

With the terrifying nightmarish figures of incubus forming below his feet and pursued by the arch enemy of the State of Sleep, the infamous politician Machiavelli, Felix is helped in his mission by the characters from this wild and exciting circus. Sir Isaac Newton, as you have never imagined him before, is the scatty mad professor who leads them in the development of their elaborate, fantastic dream inventions.

The centrepiece of the circus is the Dream Arena, which has doorways to different parts of our minds, and conquering its many levels is the domain of only the very few. As Felix and the apprentices battle the ruling nightmare family they have to conquer their own demons to try and make it to the top of the Arena, where The Island, the legendary land of free dreaming, awaits them.
